Chatty Timer (“the App”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains the data collected and used by the App.
1. Character Voice Synthesis
The App uses VOICEVOX voice models to read alarm and timer times, titles and notes, focus and break transitions, work and rest intervals, and stopwatch elapsed time.
- VOICEVOX synthesis takes place entirely on your device. Scripts and synthesized audio are not sent to external servers for voice synthesis.
- Synthesized audio is saved and reused on your device as needed. Audio no longer needed is deleted according to the App’s cache management.
- An internet connection is not required to play synthesized audio.
VOICEVOX is used for voice synthesis.

2. Health Data (HealthKit)
The App uses Apple's HealthKit framework to provide the following features:
- Sleep data (read & write) — Used to record and display sleep stages (Awake, REM, Core, and Deep Sleep).
- Heart rate (read) — Used with Apple Watch to detect light sleep and trigger the smart alarm.
- Resting heart rate (read) — Used to estimate sleep stages.
HealthKit data is processed entirely on your device. It is never sent to external servers, stored remotely, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.
3. Location Data
The App uses location data for the following purposes:
- Sunrise and sunset times — Used for time-based alarm scheduling.
Location is collected at reduced accuracy (approximate location only). Location data is held in temporary memory on your device and is not stored persistently or transmitted externally.
4. Advertising
The App uses the following advertising services:
- Google AdMob (mediation platform)
- AppLovin
- Unity Ads
- Vungle (Liftoff)
- AdGeneration
These services may collect device information (device model, OS version, etc.) and IP address for ad delivery. Personalized ads are only served when you have given consent.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
- Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymous usage data (screen views, feature usage frequency). No user IDs are associated with this data.
- Firebase Crashlytics — Collects crash reports to help fix issues.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — Used to deliver push notifications.
For users in the EEA (European Economic Area), data collection is enabled only after explicit consent, managed through the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP).

6. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS 14.5 and later, the App requests your permission before accessing the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized advertising. You can decline without affecting any app functionality.
7. Inquiries and Bug Reports
If you provide personal information such as your email address when contacting us, it will be used solely to respond to your inquiry and for no other purpose.
When you use the in-app bug report feature, your form responses, app version, OS and device information, and diagnostic logs are transmitted solely to investigate the issue and respond to your inquiry. Diagnostic logs may include in-app identifiers, settings, and information about actions performed in the App. HealthKit data and location data are not included in bug reports.
Bug report data is stored using Google Firebase and is used only for as long as necessary to investigate and respond to the report. To request deletion of this data, please contact us using the form at the end of this page.
8. Disclosure to Third Parties
Your personal information will not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law. We may engage service providers such as Google Firebase to store and process data for the purposes described in this policy.
9. Data Storage
App data such as alarm and timer settings, activity history, labels and time goals, sleep records, alarm history, and voice audio is normally stored in a local database and files on your device. If iCloud backup is enabled, this data may be backed up to Apple's servers. When you submit a bug report, only the information described in Section 7 is transmitted externally.
10. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
11. Website Contact Form
The contact form on this website uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated without prior notice. Any changes will take effect when posted on this page.
